Everyday each of us makes an impact on the community in which we serve. The
IAFC, to me, is an organization that continually strives for the betterment
of the fire service throughout the world to help us make that impact
positive and helpful. I view the IAFC as an altruistic society whose
priority is to assist, and promote, the fire service mission in the United
States and around the world. I seek your vote for the 2nd Vice Presidency of
the IAFC in order to continue that commitment to work for you, and our
communities, to continually strive for the enhancement of our fire service.
I put myself before you seeking your vote for the IAFC 2nd Vice Presidency.
I trust in the IAFC’s Strategic Planning Process, so the issues that I
pledge to address are not my issues, but the issues established by our Fire
Service Leaders (through that process), to assist our members, and help the
Association grow and continually become better. Currently, those priorities
are; Firefighter safety and wellness, maintaining a leadership role on
Capitol Hill for fire service issues, diversification of IAFC revenue,
government relations that support the fire service, diversity in our
workforce and working with our Divisions and State Associations for the
betterment of the Fire Service.
It has been an honor to serve the IAFC as Director of the Great Lakes
Division for the past twelve plus years, and spending more than one-third of
those years as Director at Large representing all of the Divisions. Being
elected to serve the IAFC has shown the confidence that members of the IAFC
have placed in me to carry their message forward. I feel a responsibility,
and an obligation, to make sure that I stand up for what the membership
feels is right. If elected, this is my continued commitment to the
membership, and the Association, while serving as President of the IAFC!
